II. Inbound

A. Set TACAN for Carrier

Establish DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) TACAN for the carrier, preferably while still greater than 50 nm from carrier.

B. Contact Carrier ATC

Via the DCS menu, contact carrier Air Traffic Control on appropriate frequency (127.500mhz) and request "inbound".

C. Set BRC

ATC will provide BRC for Case I recovery and Final Bearing for Case II / III recovery. Set BRC or Final Bearing into HSI and select appropriate HSI scale (10nm in aircraft that have this option).

D. Set ILS / ICLS / ACLS

Set up appropriate ILS systems prior to entering any pattern.

E. Descend to assigned altitude

5nm before entering any pattern, descend to appropriate/assigned altitude. Case I will be 2,000 – 5,000 feet ASL. Case II / III will be assigned in detail by DCS ATC.

F. Contact Carrier ATC prior to pattern entry

Via the DCS menu, contact carrier Air Traffic Control on appropriate frequency (127.500mhz) and declare appropriate to the Case.
